Leading the Society with Vision and Direction

Management of SASS

The South Asian Sociological Society (SASS) conducts and manages its affairs under the guidance and direction of its Advisory Board, International Committee, National Committee, and Regional Committees. Collectively, these bodies constitute the principal governing framework of the Society. These committees are responsible for overseeing organisational operations, ensuring effective governance, promoting sociological research, and fostering collaboration among sociologists across South Asia and globally. They play a crucial role in shaping the Society’s vision, formulating policies, and guiding its academic and institutional initiatives.

Research Committees (RCs) are an integral part of SASS and are instruments for advising the Office Bearers and Managing Committee members on subjects of concern to the SASS and for implementing programmes of the MC.
